PEC has gotten the authority to hold the 5th class exams across the Punjab province. For the assessment of students PEC holds exams for 5th class students. It was established in 2005 as a commanding body at elementary level. It has the responsibility to hold the exams, develop test across the Punjab district and then announces the results of 5th grade students. Public and private sector institutions are affiliated with the commission. There are eight educational boards which have gotten the affiliation of PEC and these are Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur and DG Khan. These main boards hold exams for 36 districts for the students of these areas.
